Emphasis placed on\nsuitability as a junior hunter. Fences 2’6”.\nCLASS 2 AMATEUR-OWNER HUNTER\nTo be ridden by an Amateur Owner over 18 years for the Richard W. Lloyd Memorial Trophy. Emphasis placed on\nsuitability as amateur field hunter. Fences 2’6”.\nCLASS 3 GREEN HUNTERS\nOpen to all first-year foxhunters that have not previously shown at these trials or at a recognized horse show. Winner\nreceives the Paulette W. Boykin Memorial Trophy. Fences 2’6”..\nCLASS 4 LOW OPEN HUNTERS\nOpen to all entries. Entries Not Eligible for Class 5. Winner receives the Bess & Bob Coughlin Trophy, Fences 2’6”.\nCLASS 5 OPEN HUNTERS\nOpen to all entries. Entries Not Eligible for Class 4. Winner receives the David L. Young Memorial Trophy. Fences 3’.\nCLASS 6 JUNIOR HUNTER\nQualified hunters to follow Field Master at a walk, trot, canter/gallop, jumping, reverse of field and/or hold hard. Fences\n2’6”. Judged on suitability as a junior first flight hunter.\nCLASS 7 JUNIOR HILLTOPPER HUNTER\nQualified hunters to follow a Field Master at a walk, trot, canter, walking over a log and/or opening a gate. Horse/rider\ncombinations not eligible for any other class except 9, 10 & 11. Judged on suitability as a junior hilltopper munt.\nMartingales allowed.\nCLASS 8 HILLTOPPER HUNTER\nQualified hunters to follow a Field Master at a walk, trot, canter, walking over a log and/or opening a gate. Horse/rider\ncombinations not eligible for any other classes except 9, 10 & 11. Martingales allowed.\nCLASS 9 HUNTER HACK\nTo be shown at a walk, trot, canter, and hand gallop. May be asked to trot two fences not to exceed 18”. Judged on\nmanners, way of going and suitability as a fox hunting mount. Martingales allowed.\n– LUNCH BREAK –\nCLASS 10 HILLTOPPER HUNTER O/F\nRidden over a hilltopper course over fences not to exceed 18”. Emphasis on suitability as a hilltopper hunter. Entries\nnot eligible for any other class except 7, 9 & 11.\nCLASS 11 HUNT PAIRS UNDER SADDLE\nOpen to all entries. To be ridden two abreast at a walk, trot and canter. Judged on pace, performance and general\nappearance. Martingales allowed.\nCLASS 12 HUNT PAIRS\nOpen to all entries. Ridden two abreast over a designed course for the Howard H. Lamar Jr. Memorial Trophy. Judged\non performance, pace and general appearance May jump high or low fences.\nCLASS 13 HUNT TEAMS\nOpen to all entries for the Martha T. Partridge Perpetual Trophy. Judged on Performance, consistency of spacing,\npace and general appearance. May jump high or low fences.\nCLASS 14 HANDY HUNTERS\nOpen to all entries with emphasis on manners and promptness. Winner receives the Hilda A. McMahan Trophy. Fences\n3’.\nCLASS 15 QUALIFIED HUNTERS\nOpen to qualified hunters for the Harry D. Kirkover Perpetual Trophy. Fences 3’.\nCLASS 16 FIELD HUNTER CHALLENGE\nRidden over a course over fences not to exceed 3’6” with emphasis on brilliance and style. Winner receives the Robert E. Kiehl Memorial Trophy.\nCLASS 17 BEST HUNTER AND BEST TURNED OUT\nOpen to all entries that have shown in at least one class. To be ridden by a subscriber (Junior or Senior) of any hunt. To\nfollow Field Master and judged as most suitable to ride to hounds. 2nd flight to follow. The Martha H. Williams Perpetual\nTrophy will be presented to the winner. No entry fees.\nGeneral Conditions & Information:\n\nThe Camden Hunt Hunter Trials, The Camden Hunt, or event Committee members shall not be responsible for any accident\nor damage that may occur to any animal, person, or property. Exhibitors and spectators shall hold the Committee harmless\nand indemnify it against any legal proceedings arising from any such accident. No claim for damages that may happen to\nonlookers, exhibitors, grooms or horses in connection with or arising from the Trials, or the conduct or management thereof,\nwill be recognized.\nProof of current 12-month negative Coggins required.\nAll vans and trailers are to park at the base of Hunter Trial Hill or entrance of Springdale Race Course.\nEntries may be emailed to: thecamdenhunt.huntertrials@gmail.com, submitted on schooling day or on the day of the Trials.\nThe committee has the right to combine, cancel or split any class.\nHunt subscribers or members are requested to ride in their colors. Jackets required. Braiding is appreciated.\nTwo entries will go in tandem except Classes 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15.\nDisputes will be decided by the judges, governed by hunting field experience and conditions, and by show ring procedure and etiquette where applicable and not conflicting with these conditions.\nStabling available for Friday-Sunday at Springdale Race Course at $25/night; shavings at $5/bag. Self-care. Shavings must be pre-ordered.\nSchooling Fee: $20/horse, non-refundable; pay gate attendant and pre-enter show.\nPlease note there is NO water available on grounds.\nExhibitor Hilltop Parking Fee: $20/vehicle. Patrons Circle members park at no charge but must reserve a space.\nSponsorships available. Gold -$100. Silver -$50. Bronze -$25.\n\n\nQualified Hunters (classes 6, 7, 8, 15). Open to horse/rider combinations that have hunted at least 5 times during\nthe 2022-23 season.
